Featuring simple, exotic-looking inflorescences, Alstroemeria, or Inca Lily, brightens up summer and autumn flower beds with its vibrant, sometimes soft colours and lovely striped patterns. The inticanchas are native to South America and are generally not very hardy. However, some varieties are selected for their greater frost resistance. These are the most suitable for border beds, where they can remain in place for several years and even proliferate abundantly if conditions are to their liking. Grow them sheltered from the wind, in well-drained, low-lime soil, and carefully protect the stump with organic mulch.
Small and light, their flowers add an exotic touch to border beds, adapting to all garden atmospheres.
