6 highly fragrant white rosesThe field rose, for a rustic touch
The field rose, also known as the wild rose or briar, is found naturally in woods and hedgerows in France. It thrives in both partial shade and full sun, creating a rustic atmosphere. Although it is not a repeat flowering variety, it blooms abundantly in summer, during June and July. The eglantine flowers measure 4 cm and display an ivory white colour that highlights their golden centre, contrasting with the young, thorny, purple-red shoots. They also emit a pleasant fragrance. In autumn, the flowers give way to small red fruits, which are favoured by birds.
This bushy shrub reaches 75 cm in height and 1 metre in width. With vigorous growth, it can easily be propagated through layering due to its creeping habit. It is a European botanical rose that requires little maintenance.
