Lilium 'Polar Star'

The Oriental Lily ‘Polar Star’ adds an infinitely refined and elegant touch wherever it is planted, both through the grace of its flowers and its pleasant fragrance. This variety blooms quite late, in August-September, with original flowers: fully double, they are composed of multiple pure white undulating petals, accented with lime green. A beautiful freshness that will allow for the creation of sumptuous bouquets with an intense fragrance.

A horticultural hybrid from the Oriental group, ‘Polar Star’ produces a leafy tuft in spring that will later bear upright stems reaching at least 70 cm in height when in bloom. Plant it in non-calcareous, well-drained, rich soil or substrate, in pots or in the ground.

Originating from China, the Oriental Lily ‘Stargazer’ is of extraordinary beauty. Its large cup-shaped flowers are adorned with deep pink petals speckled with brown-purple and edged with a softer pink. They exude a delightful, heady fragrance. Reaching 75 cm in bloom, this magnificent bulbous plant with deciduous foliage adopts a distinctly vertical habit, giving it undeniable presence in the garden.

Plant this Lily in rich, humus-rich, lime-free, well-drained soil. It will appreciate the sun, but its base should be shaded, for example by clumps of perennial plants.
