Eyelets: which are the most fragrant?
the best scented varieties
Contents
From April to September, depending on the varieties, and even until the frosts, the carnation or Dianthus offers a generous and generally very fragrant flowering. Its flowers exude a delightful and powerful spicy, peppery, musky scent, very characteristic, reminiscent of clove. They perfume sunny gardens, terraces, and make very lovely bouquets with an exquisite fragrance.
Carnations to grow in the garden or in pots?
Versatile, carnations are suitable for both border and pot cultivation. Low varieties such as Sweet William (Dianthus plumarius), Pentecost carnations, or dwarf carnations are perfect for potting or in troughs, in light soil, in the sun on the terrace or balcony. You will fully enjoy the sweet fragrance of their beautiful, particularly aromatic flowers.
