The rose 'Golden Boy', a fresh and subtle fragrance
The climbing rose ‘Golden Boy’ is also a reliable choice that has been awarded multiple times: Gold Medal in Barcelona and 1st Prize from the National Society of Horticulture of France in the climbing category. With abundant flowers from May to October, healthy and vigorous foliage, and a pleasantly fresh and subtle fragrance, it boasts many qualities. The flowers are semi-double and light, consisting of 20 petals and measuring 8 cm in diameter. Grouped in clusters of 3 to 5 flowers, they display a beautiful pure yellow against very dark green glossy foliage. Over time, the yellow lightens and becomes almost cream. As they bloom, the roses reveal a heart of dark yellow stamens.
The ‘Golden Boy’ rose forms a pyramid of roses 2.5 metres high and 1 metre wide in just a few years. Its thorny stems are upright and adorn a pergola or facade with their warm colour. This rose can also be trained as a large bush and inserted into a defensive hedge alongside osmanthus, mahonias, holly, and Japanese quince.
