Description

Carlina acanthifolia is a hardy perennial with a short lifespan. It produces a rosette of large, wide, whitish, thorny leaves. It displays large silver-white to pale-yellow flower heads, 12 to 15cm (5 to 6in) in diameter.

 

It will find a special place in a sunny rockery, where its flowers can be picked to adorn a dried bouquet.
