The 'La Tradition du Jardinier' Geranium Fertilizer is a mineral fertilizer enriched with magnesia designed to meet the nutritional needs of geraniums and other flowering or bedding plants, whether grown in the ground or in pots. It promotes healthy vegetative growth, and its high potassium content ensures abundant and colourful flowering. Ready to use, it comes in the form of easy-to-spread granules. Packaged in a 1Kg mini-pack, this fertilizer is particularly suitable for fertilizing small gardens, terraces, and balconies.

This fertilizer does not come from organic matter derived from living organisms, but from inert mineral matter such as certain rocks. Its formulation is as follows: NPK 11-10-17 + 3 MgO. This means that it contains:

  • 10% Nitrogen (N): this element contributes to the development of non-reproductive above-ground parts of the plant, especially leaves and stems.
  • 10% Phosphorus (P), which strengthens plant resistance and contributes to root development.
  • 17% Potassium (K): essential for good yields, it promotes flowering and fruit development.
  • 3% Magnesia or magnesium oxide (MgO), which promotes the assimilation of nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulphur. This element also intensifies the colour of flowers and foliage, as well as the taste quality of fruits and vegetables.

Uses: from March to October, at planting and monthly maintenance. Particularly recommended for geraniums, pelargoniums, petunias, Surfinias, begonias, lobelias, Impatiens, Nemesias, Anthemis, etc.

Incorporate into the planting soil. For regular maintenance: spread the fertilizer preferably in the evening so that the granules absorb moisture overnight and quickly disintegrate. Lightly water the next morning to fully dissolve the product and allow it to penetrate the roots.

Dosage: planting: 20g per plant - monthly maintenance (June to September): 25g per plant.

Plants need water, about twenty essential nutrients that they find in mineral form in the soil, carbon dioxide (CO2) present in the air, and solar energy essential for photosynthesis. The basic elements, called macronutrients, are nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). They must be present in the soil in significant quantities. The secondary elements, less predominant but nevertheless essential, are calcium (Ca), sulphur (S), and magnesium (Mg). Finally, the trace elements, necessary in very small quantities, are represented by iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), molybdenum (Mo), copper (Cu), boron (B), zinc (Zn), chlorine (Cl), sodium (Na), cobalt (Co), vanadium (V), and silicon (Si). The role of a fertilizer is to compensate for soil deficiencies and provide, through optimal dosage, the elements that promote plant growth, flowering and fruit production, as well as root, bulb, and tuber development.
