Oleander 'Angiolo Pucci' - Nerium oleander

With its dense, compact habit and ivory-coloured flowering, the Oleander ‘Angiolo Pucci’Nerium oleander adds an elegant, bright touch to a garden or balcony. At maturity it grows up to 1.5 metres and spreads to 1 metre. Its size makes it ideal to grow in a large pot or tub. Flowering, it bears ivory-to-golden single flowers with a salmon-coloured throat, from June to September. They emit a faint fragrance. The foliage, composed of elongated, leathery and pointed leaves, is evergreen. It is dark green and grey beneath. This Mediterranean bush thrives in well-drained soil in coastal regions with mild winters, as it is not very hardy to freezing temperatures, tolerating only down to about -8 to -10°C. Nevertheless, it can be grown in a pot in cold regions, where it can be moved indoors or protected from frost. Easy to maintain, it prefers well-drained soil, sun, and frequent watering during flowering.

In a garden, use it as a low hedge or in a small border. It is also perfect for brightening a balcony, planted in a large pot. Pair it with other Mediterranean plants such as lavender or myrtle to create an atmosphere that recalls holidays in the south.

Oleander "Luteum Plenum" - Nerium oleander

The oleander ‘Luteum Plenum’Nerium oleander is appreciated for its large, very double—sometimes triple—flowers with yellow petals and a golden heart. Measuring 6 cm in diameter, the flowers are slightly crumpled and appear in summer, from June to September, set against a backdrop of green foliage that highlights them. Another advantage: the flowers are fragrant. The shrub offers a bushy, ramified silhouette of 3 metres high by 2.5 metres wide when it reaches its adult size. Like other oleanders, this Mediterranean plant prefers well-drained soil, resists drought and coastal salt spray. The only drawback is its low hardiness. In the ground, it is grown in mild, sunny climates, and in a pot, it can be grown in cooler regions, provided it is protected from frost. It withstands winter temperatures down to -6.5°C.

In a garden, enjoy the fragrance of the double flowers of this bush by planting it near a path or on a terrace. You can also plant it as a hedge, paired with other yellow-flowered oleanders as listed in this article.
