The Angelonia angustifolia Angelface Wedgewood Blue is an annual plant that is heat resistant and drought tolerant. Angelonia angustifolia is a plant from the scrophulariaceae family, native to dry to semi-arid regions of Asia. Don't be fooled by the delicacy of this plant, as it is quite robust. This perennial plant, grown as an annual in our climates, has given rise to many cultivars, all of which have good drought and heat tolerance and seem to be unaffected by insects or diseases. 'Angelface Wedgewood Blue' is a variety that is as tall as it is wide. It forms a clump that reaches a height of 45cm (18in) when in flower, with an equivalent spread. From May to October, the plant produces flowering stems that bear numerous small flowers with a light background, speckled with blue-violet and highlighted by a white petal. They resemble both small orchids and snapdragons. The flowers emerge among the foliage, which consists of small, shiny, alternate, entire, lanceolate leaves.
