A very handy evening planter (very elegant!), measuring 26 cm (10in) in length, equipped with a wooden handle for a good grip. This tool allows you to plant bulbs and even small plants grown in buckets. Its metal head, conical in shape, should be cleaned after each use to maintain its beautiful appearance, even if, like all its stainless steel tools approved by the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society), this planter is guaranteed for life by Burgon & Ball.

This Burgon & Ball polished steel handle dibber is a very beautiful and handy garden tool, very practical for digging planting holes to place small bulbs, and even transplanting plants in buckets. Equipped with a sturdy FSC certified wooden handle, it provides a good grip. Its metal head, made of polished stainless steel with a conical shape, is powerful and rust-resistant.

Dimensions: length: 26 cm (10in)

Using this garden tool will be facilitated in soils that are not too hard or compact, previously moistened for example. With its ergonomic design, the sharp-pointed dibber slides effortlessly into all soils, aided by the smooth polished stainless steel finish that simply glides between hidden stones, roots, and other invisible obstacles. The handle is compostable, the metal head is recyclable.

The English have the privilege of being the reference in gardening. Promesse de Fleurs chose the English company Burgon & Ballfor the quality of its materials and its soon-to-be three-century-old steel manufacturing methods. The company has been working with steel in Sheffield since 1730, initially with a patent for solid steel sheep shears. The production of garden shears and equipment quickly outpaced that of sheep shears, but the Burgon & Ball stainless steel tools are officially approved by the Royal Horticultural Society - probably the ultimate reward in the gardening industry.

The steel used for Burgon & Ball tools is alloyed with carbon to give it strength, and with chromium to prevent the appearance of rust. It's a very precise balance that needs to be found between chromium and carbon, which is different for each part of the tool. For example, the socket, which needs to be strong enough to resist bending, is made of thicker steel with a medium balance between chromium and carbon, while the blade of this dibber, which requires significant strength and hardness to withstand flexing in the soil, is made with a higher carbon content than chromium.

The heat treatment allows exactly the right hardness to be given to the steel for each tool. Too hard and the metal can break or chip, not hard enough and it will bend or lose its sharpness. The thickness of the steel used also depends on the tool. This dibber needs a thicker steel thickness than a knife, which can be made of much thinner steel. The thickness of the steel affects the weight, so it's also a balance to be found, which the Burgon & Ball company, with its almost 300 years of experience, has validated to ensure that its tools are not only effective but also enjoyable to use.
