A lightweight spade, with a 24 cm hardened steel blade equipped with edges to rest the foot, and equipped with a 100 cm ash handle ending in a knob, well suited for shorter individuals. It is a particularly manoeuvrable and easy-to-use hand tool. It allows for digging, working, and turning the soil on small surfaces with minimal effort.

This border spade from Spear & Jackson, equipped with a footrest, a very hard ash handle and a tempered steel spade head, is a lightweight and handy garden tool, designed for smaller people and less robust use. Lightweight, resistant and well-finished, it will satisfy demanding gardeners. The spade is perfect for working and turning all types of soil, preparing planting holes, creating neat borders, but also for various small earthworks.

  • Dimensions of the spade: 24 cm
  • Handle length: 100 cm
  • Tempered steel blade for greater resistance
  • Weight: 1.260 kg

The spade is an essential garden tool, designed for lifting, turning, loosening and crumbling the soil deeply, in small areas. Fertiliser (well decomposed compost, organic fertiliser, horse manure...) can be incorporated into the soil at the same time as it is turned. The spade, with its sharp edges, is also used for digging, cutting roots, or digging up certain vegetable plants (leeks, potatoes, carrots, turnips). This model consists of an ash handle, which is very hard, lightweight and weather-resistant. The metal socket accommodates the blade made of tempered steel, resistant to shocks, twisting and corrosion thanks to the green coating. On the right and left of the handle, the spade has been hammered and flattened into steps, providing a blunt foothold. The relatively short handle makes this tool easy to handle for smaller individuals. It is compostable, and the head is recyclable.

The company Spear & Jackson has been selling tools for gardening, agriculture and landscaping to both professionals and amateurs since 1760! Today, their range reflects this experience by offering innovative, superior quality products adapted to a wide range of uses.
