PKS
This head of the Austrian PKS Bronze Alya spade, is an intermediary between a shovel and a spade, its particular shape makes it a perfect tool for transitioning between digging and shovelling. It is equipped with a very hard ash handle with a crutch and a copper alloy head with reinforced fitting. This tool is perfect for aerating and loosening compact or heavy soils, preparing planting holes, and shoveling substrates.

This copper spade from the eponymous brand of the famous Austrian ecologist and naturalist PKS Bronze is equipped with a very hard ash handle, shaped like a crutch, and a copper head with a reinforced attachment using a long ferrule. Targeted tests have shown that copper tools, whose mechanical wear leaves micro particles in the soil, can contribute to an improvement in crop quality. It is a very durable and traditionally high-quality garden tool that will satisfy demanding gardeners and lovers of fine tools. It is perfect for working and turning all types of soil, preparing planting holes, and creating neat borders.

Dimensions of the spade blade: 24 x 15cm - Handle length: 110cm (43in)

A spade is an essential tool, designed for both aerating and loosening the soil. It allows for lifting, turning, loosening, and crumbling the soil deeply, on small surfaces. Fertilizer (well-decomposed compost, organic fertilizer, horse manure...) can be incorporated into the soil at the same time it is being turned. The spade, with its sharp edges, is also used for digging, cutting roots, or uprooting certain vegetable plants (leeks, potatoes, carrots, turnips).

The copper head, which deposits micro particles in the soil during use, helps improve it with this natural soil component. Copper tools are indestructible, they do not rust and last a lifetime. They also have the advantage of not dulling, so there is no need to sharpen them. Finally, they are also elegant, with the aesthetic of copper bringing a noble and silky aspect. Copper tools, with their extreme longevity, are faithful companions to their owners for decades.

This model consists of a single-piece ash handle to minimize the risk of breakage, being both very hard, lightweight, and less susceptible to weather conditions. The sharpened blade, made of an indestructible copper alloy resistant to both shocks, torsion, and corrosion, offers less resistance when penetrating the soil. The handle of this tool is compostable, and the copper head is recyclable. It comes with a 2-year guarantee.

Directions for use The spade is an essential tool, designed both to aerate and loosen the soil. It allows for lifting, turning, loosening, and crumbling the soil deeply, on small surfaces. This tool is an intermediary between the shovel and the spade, and can be used for shovelling and digging. The beak, with its sharp edges, is also used for digging, cutting roots, or uprooting certain vegetable plants (leeks, potatoes, carrots, turnips). To maintain the beautiful appearance of your copper tool, we recommend cleaning it with a hard brush after each use, storing it away from moisture, and once a year sanding the handle with fine sandpaper and oiling it with a mixture of linseed oil and turpentine for easier application. You can dilute it half and half, and for faster drying of the handle, use boiled linseed oil.
