This oval-shaped plant label is handcrafted in Brittany using natural and authentic slate, will add a touch of elegance to your plants. Perforated to allow for the attachment of a loop of string or to attach to a plant label hanger. Elegant and high-quality, it is also very useful for remembering the name of each plant in the garden, greenhouse, indoor or terrace pots, or herb and vegetable gardens.
Seed packets, as well as printed bands and labels provided when purchasing plants, often deteriorate quickly under the combined action of sunlight and rain, with the plant names quickly becoming illegible. On the other hand, these slate plant labels from Comptoir Botanique resist heat and the ravages of time. This slate model measures 12cm (5in) in length and comes in the form of a thin, smooth polished plaque in varying shades of gray-black, randomly traversed by lighter veins and spots. Before use, write the plant name, any information, or a message on it using simple chalk, a chalk marker, a graphite pencil or even white paint. Then simply pass a string through the provided hole to hang it on a branch or attach it to a plant label hanger that can be strategically planted. Natural slate is an ecological and environmentally friendly material, and its dust, chips and gravel are even used in soil improvers.
Comptoir Botanique, located in Locquénolé in northern Finistère, entrusts over 80% of its production to ESAT (Establishments and Services for Assistance through Work), a long-running collaboration.
Garden labels are very useful accessories that can add a touch of elegance or charm to individual plants and your garden as a whole. In the vegetable garden, it is essential to identify lettuce, radish or carrot seedlings, as well as varieties of melons or squash. In the ornamental garden, herbacous perennials or bulbs risk being accidentally dug up or damaged by a fork if not marked. If you love iris or grasses, you will appreciate being able to remember the names of the beautiful varieties you've planted. For rare plants with no common name you can, thanks to the label that comes to the rescue of your memory, impress your visitors with the Latin name of your latest acquisition. Whether suspended in the garden, in a pot, a flower box, or in a basket of plants and flowers, the slate label will always add a little something. Finally, naming a plant is an excellent way to awaken children's interest in nature in all its diversity.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
