This heavy-duty La Cordeline jute twine, of a beautiful thickness and ultra-resistant to weather and wear, is made from 100% natural and biodegradable vegetable fibre, renowned for its longevity. Essential and multi-purpose, decorative and discreet, this all-purpose twine is ideal for wrapping, tying in, staking, training, aligning, knotting and fastening all types of plants. In the home, it has many uses in arts and crafts. With a diameter of 3.5mm (0in), tt is offered in the form of a 1kg roll on a large spool that unwinds approximately 200m (656ft) of thread . Natural colour.
Jute is a material that comes directly from the rigid and fibrous stems of a shrub called white jute, in Latin Corchorus capsularis. It is a plant of the Malvaceae family, related to our hibiscus, native to the hot and humid regions of India. This strong La Cordeline twine is made from raw, untreated fibre, simply woven. Resistant, the jute twine can be reused several times before starting to degrade. This twine looks rustic, slightly fuzzy on the surface, and features an interesting flexibility. It can be easily cut with a pair of scissors, a sharp knife or a cutter. Compostable, jute degrades naturally without leaving any residue in the environment.
The jute twine will belong in every gardener's pocket, accompanying them to the vegetable garden to stake tomatoes and tie in unruly climbing beans, cucumbers and raspberries, to the ornamental garden to tie up a unruly vine or rambling rose branch, or to the orchard to support a branch laden with fruit, for example, as it holds firmly without harming the most fragile stems. For artists, this flexible thread can be knitted and crocheted, knotted and woven in macramé, it personalises scrapbooking and decorative objects, giving a very natural feel.
Approximate length 200m (656ft), diameter 3.5mm (0in). Its breaking strength is 67kg.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
