This Stop Bambou STOP-R, BAR Anti-Root Felt, helps limit the spread of rhizomes from invasive bamboo. This anti-root and rhizome barrier protects walls, pipes, constructions, terraces, and more. It is very easy to install and has a lifespan of over 15 years. This barrier comes in rolls with an aluminium connecting bar to close the enclosure. It protects your other plants, as well as pipes, cables, foundations, pavements, ornamental ponds, and swimming pools.

Designed to contain the invasion of bamboo rhizomes or the wandering roots of certain trees that can become invasive, this anti-rhizome barrier is also suitable for guiding roots to the desired location for their growth. The black STOP R BAR felt is made of high-density polyethylene called HDPE (1000 grs/m2). It is flexible enough to conform to the shape you want for your barrier but rigid enough to stay in place during installation. Resistant to heat and humidity, it will remain in place for many years. This barrier guides rhizomes and roots towards the surface of the soil within the delimited area: any rhizome encountering this obstacle will change its growth direction upwards. Once they emerge, these 'unwanted' rhizomes must be pruned and removed to prevent them from crossing the barrier. This anti-root felt is 100% recyclable.

Installation of an anti-rhizome barrier:

- Dig a planting hole deep enough (45-50 cm (18-20in) deep) or a trench of equivalent depth to position the barrier.

- Bury the barrier at a 15° (59°F) angle from the vertical, with the smooth side facing the roots, leaving it protruding 5 to 10cm (2 to 4in) above the soil's surface.

- Do not place a barrier at the bottom of the planting area.

- Securely attach the two edges of the enclosure so that roots and rhizomes cannot infiltrate even the smallest space.

- Add some soil outside this barrier for aesthetic reasons to hide the part that emerges from the soil.

Detailed features

Directions for use This STOP-R BAR anti-rhizome felt pen is recommended for limiting the expansion of running bamboo rhizomes and the wandering roots of certain trees and bushes. It is used for all areas that need protection: neighbouring gardens, property boundaries, proximity to ducts, cables, foundations, paving, ornamental ponds, construction walls, swimming pools, and septic tanks. Setting up an anti-rhizome barrier: - Dig a planting hole deep enough (45-50 cm (18-20in) deep) or a trench of equivalent depth to position the barrier. - Bury the barrier at a 15° (59°F) angle relative to the vertical, with the smooth side facing the roots, leaving it protruding from 5 to 10cm (2 to 4in) above the ground. - Do not place a barrier at the bottom of the planting area. - Securely fasten both edges of the formed loop with the provided aluminium fastener, ensuring that roots and rhizomes cannot infiltrate even the smallest space. - Add a bit of soil outside this barrier for aesthetic reasons to conceal the part that emerges from the ground.
