A nail-on staking strip made from reinforced recycled PVC. Strong and flexible, it allows you to secure a tree effectively to its stake. UV-resistant, it can remain in place for several years without breaking or deteriorating prematurely.

This recycled reinforced PVC strapping strip is a sturdy and very useful accessory for securing trees to their stakes. It is both resistant and flexible, and it is also resistant to UV and weather conditions. This device will remain in place for several years without breaking or degrading prematurely.

Staking and guying trees is essential when they are newly planted in windy locations. On the one hand, their root system is still insufficiently developed to ensure proper anchoring of the plant in the soil. On the other hand, the aerial vegetation, often disproportionate to this root system, offers significant wind resistance. The stake(s) are usually installed when planting for taller subjects or all young trees subjected to strong winds. The device remains in place for at least 2 or 3 years, a necessary time to consolidate the root system.

Installation tips:

  • Place a wide, sturdy wooden stake facing the wind near the tree.
  • Cut a piece of strapping strip of sufficient length to wrap around the trunk and the stake, allowing an extra 5 to 6 cm (2in) to nail the strip to the stake.
  • Wrap the trunk and the stake at a level representing approximately 2/3 of the tree's height.
  • Use 2 to 3 nails to secure the strip to the top of the wooden stake.
