Description

Sanguinaria canadensis 'Flore Pleno' is a beautiful bulbous plant of the undergrowth with fully double white flowers. This variety is still relatively unknown, but deserves a place in our gardens,

It is nicknamed "bloodroot" because of the blood-red exudate that escapes from the tuberous roots when they are broken. This superb plant has a slow growth rate. It gradually forms beautiful rounded clumps.

The upright cut leaves are green-grey in colour. They appear at the same time as the beautiful white double flowers

This perennial of light undergrowth likes partial shade. It prefers rich, light, moist soil with humus. It is easy to grow, and can be planted with Epimedium grandiflorum, Omphalodes cappadocica 'Starry Eyes', or Brunnera macrophylla 'Jack Frost'.
