This adjustable 9D/54cm (21in) Polet hay rake is designed for amateur gardeners who want to make their own hay. Its head is fitted with 9 aluminium tines. A fastener on the sturdy ash handle adjusts the head so it can be tilted for hard-to-reach places. Hold the head obliquely to gather hay into windrows, in a lateral movement, as for mowing. It is possible to rake with the side of the head in narrow places. This tool can be used as a traditional rake, to level soil or spread sand. The ash wood handle has a conical end, allowing the user to plant it in the ground for resting.
Dimensions/technical characteristics:
•   9 double aluminium tines
•   Laterally adjustable
•   Rake dimensions: 16cm (6in) x 54cm (21in)
•   Ash handle with conical tip
•   Handle length: 160cm (63in)
This tool is used to rake hay. Hay is composed of cut, dried, and stored grass to feed herbivores during winter or in case of drought, when other vegetation present is absent or insufficient. After mowing, comes windrowing (small heaps of gathered hay), an action that consists of using the rake to turn and air the grass to dry it more quickly, without rotting and without losing its nutritional qualities. After windrowing, the hay is either pressed or gathered into bales to be stored away from moisture.
Hay is part of the diet of rabbits, horses, cows, donkeys, goats, and lambs.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
