The cluster-flowered rose Betty Boop, a generous flowering
With vibrant red, yellow, and white colours, a generous flowering period lasting for months, and a fruity fragrance, the Betty Boop rose is sure to please, much like the cartoon heroine it is named after. The Betty Boop rose is an American creation by Tom Carruth, introduced in 1999. It belongs to the family of floribunda roses, hybrids obtained from a cross-breeding between a polyantha rose and a tea rose, known for their abundant flowering, pleasant fragrance, and ease of growth. It has received the highest award given to a rose in the United States: the AARS, awarded by the American Rose Society. So you have a reliable choice in your hands! This is a perpetual rose, producing bi-coloured, semi-double blooms clustered in bouquets from May to October. It thrives in all types of soil and gardens, where it can be used in small beds or low hedges. It also adapts very well in pots on a balcony or terrace. With its cheerful colours, you can pair it with geraniums, campanulas, carnations, or asters.

Artists' rosesThe large-flowered rose Anastasia, elegance in the garden and in a vase
The Anastasia rose evokes the name of the Russian grand duchess, who inspired an animated film by Fox Animation Studios. Bold and elegant, the daughter of the last tsar, Nicholas II, fled the Revolution and Saint Petersburg. Also elegant, the Anastasia rose is a modern hybrid tea with sturdy stems bearing large solitary, double, and turbinate white roses with a yellow heart. Its flowers exude a fragrance with citrus scents. This cultivar by Michel Adam has been awarded numerous times, particularly with the German ADR label, a guarantee of great disease resistance, as well as several Gold Medals in Rome in 2012 and at the ‘Grand Prix de la Rose’ of the Société Nationale d’Horticulture de France in 2013. The bush, which reaches 1 metre in height at maturity, blooms abundantly from June to October. Another great quality is that its roses last a long time both in the garden and in a bouquet in a vase.

The Charming dwarf rose, an adorable miniature rose.
Charming, yet another name that evokes a cartoon character! The Charming rose bears flowers in a bright pink hue with a slightly fragrant scent. It has another unique feature: its miniature size, reaching 40 cm at ripeness. This makes it a practical plant for pot cultivation on your balcony or as small hedges in your garden. This dwarf rose is nonetheless generous in blooms, producing roses from May to September that are pink with cream undersides and yellow centres, revealing the stamens. Another interesting quality is its high resistance, having received the German ADR label. However, it prefers fertile soils that are not too dry. It fits beautifully at the edges of flower beds and makes a statement in rockeries or when planted in a lovely pot.

Roses of LegendsThe Princess Disney rose, vibrant red bouquets for the garden.
Also dwarf, the Princess Disney rose is designed to pair well with the Charming rose, creating a beautiful combination in the garden or in pots. The colour of the Princess Disney rose is a vibrant, intense red, with a subtle white reverse. It is a German cultivar from Kordes, highly resistant, and has also received the German ADR label. It belongs to the ‘Rigo Rosen’ collection, which includes varieties selected for their disease resistance, ground cover quality, and adaptability to all types of regions. It forms a small bush that grows up to a height of 70 cm. Very floriferous, it produces beautiful clusters of red roses with yellow stamen hearts from June to October.

The climbing rose Mermaid, a delightful ornamental rose
Famous from Disney cartoons, the Mermaid has inspired many children! It has also given its name to the Mermaid climbing rose with large light yellow flowers and a charming heart of stamens, exuding a subtle lemony fragrance. With its dark green, glossy foliage and lovely clustered flowers that appear from June to October, it is among the most widely planted roses. It climbs to a height of 8 metres and bears curved prickles, allowing it to cling to surrounding vegetation during its growth. After flowering, the blooms give way to red fruits known as hips, and its foliage is evergreen.
While known for its resilience, the Mermaid climbing rose does however have a few minor weaknesses: it is sensitive to frost, excess lime, and poorly drained soils. Therefore, it is important to care for it if cold weather occurs and to ensure it is covered during the most exposed periods. It gracefully adorns the facades of houses and pergolas and harmonises beautifully with clematis.
For a bit of history, it was created in 1878 by the Englishman William Paul, from a cross-breeding between an Asian wild rose, called Rosa bracteata, and a double yellow tea rose. Like its Asian parent, it tolerates shade well. Highly ornamental and easy to grow, it has been awarded by the renowned English institution, the Royal Horticultural Society!
