Rosa x floribunda Rigo Rosen® Princesse Disney® Korplunblo - Floribunda Rose

The Rigo Rosen Disney Princess Rose is a small, incredibly bright bush that doesn't go unnoticed when it's in bloom, from late spring to the first frosts. Its small bright red roses with a white underside, arranged in clusters on green and shiny foliage sprinkled with red young shoots, create a quite fantastic colour combination on the scale of the plant. Very hardy, really easy to grow, very floriferous and almost maintenance-free, this rose with a very natural appearance finds its place in all flower gardens. Its small size is perfect for growing in pots or containers to decorate the patio or balcony.

The Disney Princess 'Korplunblo' Rose is a German creation by Kordes, obtained in 1999, and distinguished by the highly selective German A.D.R label in 2009 for its excellent natural disease resistance, among other criteria. It is part of a series of roses called 'Sans Contraintes', requiring very little maintenance, and the 'Rigo Rosen' collection developed in partnership with 'Globe Planter', bringing together varieties selected for their disease resistance, their low groundcover habit, and their ability to flower enthusiastically in all regions. All Rigo-Roses® have obtained the ADR label.

This 'Disney Princess' variety belongs to the floribunda rose family, with flowers grouped in bouquets. It quickly forms a small, branching bush with an upright habit, reaching about 70 cm (28in) in height and 50 cm (20in) in width. Its thorny stems produce copper-red young shoots that unfold into quite ample and decorative foliage. Initially a beautiful light and vibrant green, the leaves darken in summer. They are divided into large, glossy, finely toothed leaflets. Its flowering is continuous from June to October if the soil remains somewhat moist in summer. Its corollas are semi-double, resembling small tea roses, and are gathered in clusters of 4 to 6 flowers. When fully open, they reveal a small yellow stamen centre. The petals located in the centre of the rose have a red inner face and a much lighter reverse, going up to white. The deciduous foliage turns yellow before falling in autumn.

The 'Disney Princess' groundcover rose adapts to all soils that are not too dry and to all climates, allowing it to be welcomed in many regions. In the south, place it preferably in the morning sun, while it will bloom better in full sun in the north. It works wonders as a border for a path or flowerbed, above a wall or on a large slope where it will cover the ground. It can also be planted in groups of three plants, arranged in a triangle, or as a solitary plant on a lawn. Plant it en masse or in association with groundcover roses with white, yellow, red, or orange flowers to highlight the path or the beds of light or opulent shrubs and perennials. For example, it can be paired with perennial geraniums (Geranium Rozanne, Blue Cloud, Anne Folkard, Nimbus, Orion), bellflowers (lactiflora, rapunculoides), catmints, delphiniums, foxgloves, or other perennial salvias. Very easy to combine, it will happily accompany shrub roses with white or even yellow flowers.
