Rosa Rosy Boom - Shrub rose

The Rosy Boom Ohara shrub rose is an undemanding and easy-to-grow bush rose, boasting a prolific flowering of small, single, fragrant flowers in flattened cups, a soft pink with a white centre and yellow stamens, reminiscent of wild roses. This hardy, healthy and compact selection is easily pruned once a year and its flowers resist rain. It forms an upright bush with a very supple and loose habit, which can be planted in a pot on the terrace, instantly dressing it up, or in borders and small flowering hedges in natural-looking gardens.

The Rosy Boom Ohara shrub rose has a very supple, bushy habit, reaching an average height of 1.30m and a width of 55cm at maturity, allowing it to be tucked into small spaces. Its flowering is particularly abundant and regular from June to September, if the soil remains moist. Its small, 4cm wide roses are gathered in generous panicles. They are in slightly flattened, white cups, heavily edged with bright pink, a shade that pales when fully open, giving the plant a lovely range of pinks and whites. The stems are adorned with very healthy deciduous foliage, divided into medium green leaflets with a satin finish. The shrub has a medium growth rate. 

Shrub roses can create beautiful small hedges, planted in a mix at the edge of the terrace or in small shrub borders. Pair them with abelias, nandinas, deciduous ceanothus, pink or blue ones, or caryopteris, for example. They are good companions for peonies, panicled phlox and large baby's breath. The modest size of Rosy Boom Ohara allows it to fit in all gardens, even small ones. It can be used in many ways, according to each gardener's wishes: in a rose border, alongside pink, red or purple varieties, such as Rhapsody in Blue, or mixed with easy-to-grow plants like Rozanne hardy geraniums, small-flowered pinks, perennial salvias or pink and blue asters.
