This model has a spreader-type handle that controls the opening or closing of the planter head, simply by pressing or releasing two metal pieces. This model will make regular planting holes 5 to 10 cm deep, with a flat bottom. The jointed head or body of the planter sinks vertically into the soil and traps a clod of earth. It only remains to carefully remove it from the soil and place the bulb or tuber in the bottom of the hole. The clod of earth is easily ejected, thanks to the spreader system, and can then be used to fill the planting hole. Finally, firm the soil a little over the bulb using your hands or the ball of your foot.
