This Bahco P3-20-F forged professional pruner will satisfy even the most demanding gardeners, whether seasoned professionals or passionate amateurs. It is a tool that is both robust and durable, made from high-quality materials, and is performant and ergonomic. It features dual-material handles for a comfortable grip, especially in cold weather, and forged cross-cutting blades made of steel that provide a clean cut, are less traumatic for plant tissues, and are well-suited for pruning young green wood that is not too thick. Its narrow counter-blade allows access to difficult-to-reach branches. Spare parts available.
The hand pruner is an essential tool that every gardener should have, whether they are maintaining a small balcony, a terrace, a small urban garden, a large country garden, or an orchard. The cross-cutting pruner is the most common type. It consists of two movable curved blades that slide against each other when the handles of the tool are squeezed. It works like a pair of scissors. Unlike an anvil pruner, it provides a clean and precise cut that does not crush the cut stems. Therefore, it is the most suitable pruner for cutting green wood on live plants as it avoids the formation of wounds that can lead to the proliferation of diseases. The cross-cutting blades also offer better cutting comfort. The Bahco P5-20-F professional pruner makes pruning easier and allows for a cleaner cut on stems and branches up to 2cm (1in) in diameter. The high-carbon content blades are fully forged and heat-treated, making them both stronger and lighter. This pruner is 20cm (8in) long and is very manoeuvrable and suitable for all hand sizes.
This versatile Bahco P5-20-F professional pruner can trim all types of garden plants: trees and bushes, fruit trees, conifers, acidophilous plants, plants for mild climates, hedge plants, climbing plants, roses, small fruits and vines, bamboo, and even perennial plants.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
The flowering period indicated on our website applies to countries and regions located in USDA zone 8 (France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, etc.)
It will vary according to where you live:- In zones 9 to 10 (Italy, Spain, Greece, etc.), flowering will occur about 2 to 4 weeks earlier.
- In zones 6 to 7 (Germany, Poland, Slovenia, and lower mountainous regions), flowering will be delayed by 2 to 3 weeks.
- In zone 5 (Central Europe, Scandinavia), blooming will be delayed by 3 to 5 weeks.
In temperate climates, pruning of spring-flowering shrubs (forsythia, spireas, etc.) should be done just after flowering.
Pruning of summer-flowering shrubs (Indian Lilac, Perovskia, etc.) can be done in winter or spring.
In cold regions as well as with frost-sensitive plants, avoid pruning too early when severe frosts may still occur.

It will vary according to where you live:
- In Mediterranean zones (Marseille, Madrid, Milan, etc.), autumn and winter are the best planting periods.
- In continental zones (Strasbourg, Munich, Vienna, etc.), delay planting by 2 to 3 weeks in spring and bring it forward by 2 to 4 weeks in autumn.
- In mountainous regions (the Alps, Pyrenees, Carpathians, etc.), it is best to plant in late spring (May-June) or late summer (August-September).
