Campanula carpatica 'Clips Blue'

The Campanula carpatica ‘Clips Blue’ is a small semi-evergreen variety that is particularly floriferous. Its flowers appear from June to September, in the form of widely open mauve-blue bells facing the sky. It forms a carpet of 20 cm in height and 30 cm in width. Very hardy and resilient, it thrives in a sunny but not scorching exposure or in partial shade. This campanula prefers cool, well-drained soil. It is worth noting that it tolerates calcareous and stony soils. This lovely plant will make a statement in pots, borders, rockeries, on walls, or as groundcover. You can plant it at the feet of roses or alongside alyssums, aubrietas, and even its white-flowered sister: Campanula ‘Clips White’.

The campanula double punctata 'Milky Way'

The variety punctata ‘Milky Way’ is one of the most stunning double white campanulas. Its remarkable purple stems bear dark green foliage. From June onwards, large white flowers shaped like long bell-shaped double skirts appear. The inside of the flower is speckled with pink-red dots. This flowering will last until September if care is taken to remove faded flowers. Highly decorative, it will look wonderful in a romantic or wild garden. It is easy to grow in pots or in the ground, in cool, rich, well-drained soil. It enjoys both sunny and semi-shaded positions. The habit of this campanula is rather bushy, reaching 40 to 45 cm in all directions. You can plant it with hardy geraniums, Polemoniums, alchemillas, as well as with English roses, Claret Astrantias, and late tulip ‘Queen of the Night’.

Campanula persicifolia 'La Belle'

The Campanula persicifolia ‘La Belle’ is a double version of the peach-leaved campanula. This beautiful perennial forms a rosette of semi-evergreen dark green leaves, from which long flowering stems emerge from June to August. With its resemblance to a small rose, it is perfect for a rockery, a romantic or rustic border, and also in cut flower arrangements. To thrive, provide it with a planting location in full sun or partial shade, in ordinary, loose, and rather cool soil. Note that it also tolerates calcareous and acidic soils. For a beautiful display, also plant dame’s rocket, lady’s mantle, stachys, roses, and peonies.

With its spreading habit, it reaches 40 cm in height and 30 cm in width during flowering. It enjoys a position in full sun or light shade, in rich, light, cool, and well-draining soil. It also tolerates calcareous and clay soils. This campanula is ideal in pots, as a border plant, and in rockeries. For a lovely effect, plant it alongside crocosmias, phlox, lobelias, or silene.
