Description

We offer you this Bush Duo of Peach-leafed Campanulas with irresistible double flowers, to enjoy in flowerbeds or as cut flowers. They areeasy to grow hardy perennials ideal for beginner gardeners. Their white or blue blooms depending on the plant last from June to August if regularly dead-headed. Their long peach leaves-like foliage partially persists in winter.

The Duo consists of:

x 1 Campanula persicifolia 'La Bello': double bell-shaped pure whiteflowers on stems reaching 80 cm (32in) in height.

x 1 Campanula persicifolia 'La Belle Blue': double bell-shaped flowers of a deep and intense lavender blue, on floral stems 75 cm (30in) in height.

Hardy down to below -15°C (5°F), Campanula persicifolia thrive in sunny or semi-shaded positions. The further south your location, the more they will need a shaded spot in the afternoon. Plant them from March to May and from September to November in ordinary, even chalky, loose and not too dry soil. Don't be fooled by the size of the young potted plants: give them the space you would give to a small bush, that is to say 60 to 70 cm (24 to 28in) in all directions, as the stumps will sucker slightly. For a quick effect, plant 6 of them per m².

This duo of campanulas will be perfect in a wildflower flowerbed mixed with other campanulas, columbines, snaps, and Oriental poppies, for example. They can also be used in not too dry rock gardens. These double campanulas also make wonderful cut  flowers alongside roses and peonies.
