Rosa 'La Gaité' - Hybrid Tea Rose
Thanks to the people (for order preparation and shipping), the bare-root rose received appears healthy to me. Planted near the 'Saint Cecilia' variety, I am now patiently waiting for it to take root... or not?

The 'La Gaité' bush rose with large flowers, 'Tan 135224', is a modern, disease-resistant and robust rose, distinguished by remarkable intensity and duration of flowering. This vigorous bush produces sumptuous, perfectly formed roses, a beautiful deep pink, exhaling a powerful fragrance. Its abundant flowering extends from late spring to autumn, while its glossy dark green foliage adds a touch of elegance to the plant. Due to its many qualities, this variety is ideally suited for use in borders, flower beds, borders, and flower pots, as well as for creating magnificent bouquets.
Unveiled in 2020, Rosa 'La Gaité' or 'Tan 13522' was created by Rosen Tantau, a German company specialising in rose breeding. This variety is part of the hybrid teas or roses with large flowers. With rapid growth, the bush has dense vegetation and a compact habit, reaching a height of 80 cm (32in) to 1 m (3ft) and a spread of 0.50 to 0.70 m (2ft). It is characterised by sturdy, thorny branches that support dense foliage cut into large, serrated leaves of a shiny dark green. The plant offers generous and continuous flowering from May to June to October. The bright pink flower buds open into superb 8- to 10-cm (3- 4in) double-diameter flowers, reminiscent of the characteristic shape of hybrid teas. To encourage repeat flowering, faded flowers should be regularly removed. Solitary or in clusters of two to three, each flower is borne at the end of a long, sturdy, thorny stem ideal for cut flowers. The colour of the flowers is unique, with shades of pink, blending soft and slightly greyish hues.
This magnificent 'La Gaité' rose offers bright and warm flowering on a solid and generous plant and only requires fertile and moist soil to reach its full potential. Its luxuriant growth, gentle colour, and intoxicating fragrance make it an excellent choice for a small hedge, a bed of roses or light perennials. It can also be used individually in a well-maintained small garden. Plant it in groups of three in large borders for a spectacular effect. To create harmonious combinations, plant it with other roses in soft pink, orange or red shades. In a bed of colourful shrubs, you can associate it with weigelas and dwarf abelias, caryopteris or lavenders. You can accompany it with Japanese anemones, paniculate phlox, blue campanula medium, red penstemons, and delphiniums. And let's not forget, for contrast, planting it with the silver foliage of Wormwoods.
Furthermore, the cut flowers of this rose have good longevity and are perfect for creating magnificent bouquets. Thanks to its compact habit, this rose adapts perfectly to cultivation in a large pot. Just water it regularly and provide the fertilisers to thrive and fully enhance terraces, balconies, or patios.

Botanical data
To grow your 'La Gaité Rose successfully, plant it in a sunny area or a location with light shade. While modern roses are generally adaptable, they don't thrive in soils that are too heavy, excessively limestone, or waterlogged during winter. So, make sure the soil is well-worked, sufficiently rich, and not too heavy. Water and fertilise your rose regularly to support its flowering.
To plant your rose, prepare the soil by crumbling it well and adding an amendment such as blood, fish and bone to the bottom of the planting hole. After planting, water generously to remove any air pockets. For the next few weeks, water regularly to encourage rooting.
To keep your rose blooming, be sure to regularly remove faded flowers.
Roses may develop unsightly spots at the end of summer, but this is a natural occurrence and doesn't harm the rose's growth.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
