The 'Hydrangea macrophylla Magical Noblesse' is a delicate and elegant addition to the beautiful 'Magical' series. It produces magical flowers that change shades from spring to autumn. The pom-pom blooms start as an almond green shade, then turn white before transitioning to a brighter green shade, sometimes with hints of red or blue, depending on the soil type. The plant's abundant flowering remains decorative until the winter frosts. It's perfect for creating fresh or dried bouquets, and its compact, round shape makes it ideal for cultivation in large containers or shaded borders in non-limestone soil. It's also very hardy.
Hydrangea macrophylla is the plant from which 'Magical Noblesse' comes. It's a bush from the Hydrangeaceae family, originally from China and Japan. 'Magical Noblesse' is known for its flowers that change colours over the season. The bush is hardy and has a compact habit, with a wider spread than height. It's typically 1m (3 ft 4 in) tall and spans 1.20m (3 ft 11 in), but under certain growing conditions, it can reach 1.25m in height in 10 years.
In June, the bush produces clusters of tiny flowers like pom-poms, coloured in almond green. The flowers have a beautiful and varied display of colours, which shift between shades of green and white. When the season ends, the flowers take on a paper-like texture, often turning red (in neutral or slightly limestone soil) or blue (in acidic soil). The bush also produces dark green, deciduous leaves that are opposite, single, ovate to elliptical, and end in a sharp point. The leaves are at least ten centimetres long.
Hydrangeas are well-known for brightening up the north side of houses. The plants in the 'Magical' series require no particular maintenance and can resist sun, rain, and frost. These plants can be grown in borders and hedges and are particularly suitable for container cultivation. They can be placed on the terrace or near the entrance, and even though they do not thrive in limestone, they are not strictly heathland plants. You can pair them with fuchsia magellanica, with annual impatiens, or plant spring-flowering bulbs in front of their round silhouette. You can enjoy their beautiful flowers for a long time, in the garden or at home in bouquets.

Botanical data
To plant hydrangea macrophylla 'Magical Noblesse', choose a shaded spot against an East or North-facing wall. Protect it from cold and drying winds. The plant does not need ericaceous soil but prefers deep, fresh, and well-drained soil that is relatively fertile. You should enrich the soil with good fertiliser before planting. If the soil is dry at the foot of the wall, plant the root ball at least 30 or 40 cm (11.8 or 15.7 in) away from the base of the wall and add well-rotted compost to retain the soil's moisture. The plant is very hardy and can survive even in cold regions.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
