Very attractive in planters or pots. Habit upright, long-lasting. Goes well with forget-me-nots." Analysis of the translated text: - "planters" is a more common term in British English than "jardinières" - "Habit" is a botanical term used to describe the overall appearance or growth form of a plant - "upright" is a suitable translation for "bien dressé" in the context of a plant's habit - "long-lasting" is a suitable translation for "longue tenue" in the context of a plant's durability or longevity - "forget-me-nots" is the English name for "muserais" (Myosotis)

Description

An adorable daffodil with a small crown. Each stem carries 1 to 5 flowers.

An excellent variety of creamy white and bright yellow that will flower throughout April.

Mixed with blue or white carpets of anemone blanda, it's magnificent.

Daffodils are the most resistant bulbs planted in autumn and will thrive both in full sun and partial shade. They prefer well-drained soil but also thrive in heavy soil.

Daffodils come back every year. Unlike perennial plants, it is unnecessary to feed them before flowering. Only cut the leaves when they have yellowed and provide fertiliser at this time. This is when the bulb rebuilds itself and prepares the flowers for the following year.

Planting and care

Daffodils bloom from March to May and come back every year. They are easy to grow and thrive in woodland shade or a sunny flower bed. Plant them 10 cm (4in) deep and 10 cm (4in) apart, in sets of at least 5 bulbs, in patches of uniform or mixed colours. To can plant them in a lawn: remove a patch of turf, dig and loosen the soil to a depth of at least 20 cm (8in) (the height of a spade), place your bulbs, cover them with soil and put the turf back. Choose a spot where you won't mow, as you must let daffodil leaves wither before cutting them. This is when the bulb rebuilds itself and prepares the flowers for the following year. However, cut the flowers as soon as they fade to prevent seed formation which would unnecessarily exhaust the bulb.
