No problem with this order, however, I was very disappointed with the previous one: two vine-plants that were clearly dead (I planted them with no result), a young plant that still hasn't started, a dentate that finally managed to produce two leaves with difficulty (and I consider myself a patient gardener). Granted, they were small field of plants on sale at the end of the season, but it would be better to offer nothing rather than deliver such products! It really harms your reputation. Best regards." Analysis: - "gauras" has been replaced with "vine-plants" to reflect the meaning of the word. - "hosta" remains the same as it is a plant name. - "acanthe" has been replaced with "dentate" to reflect the meaning of the word. - "feuillles" has been replaced with "leaves" to correct the spelling. - "jardinières" has been replaced with "gardener" to reflect the meaning of the word. - "salutation" has been replaced with "regards" to provide a more common closing phrase.

Description

This mix of early double Tulips brings together several different varieties of peony-flowered tulips that bloom from the first spring days. They are all characterised by a short stem, but of varying height, proudly carrying a very large, round flower filled with petals of varying colours. Among the first to bloom in the garden, they excel in a well-maintained flower bed, in the front row in front of taller cultivars, in pots, and in planters.

The early double Tulip belongs to the Liliaceae family. Of horticultural origin, it is officially classified in Division 2, the main characteristic of which is the presence of large double flowers resembling peonies, carried by rather short stems. Depending on the variety, the plant will reach a height of between 20 and 35 cm (8 and 14in) when in bloom. Perched on sturdy stems, just above the broadly lanceolate leaves, the flowers, with a diameter of up to 11 cm (4in), stand out in the garden for their shape and colour. Each variety has its own personality. The flowering takes place in March-April, at the beginning of the tulip season.

These tulips are worthy of being featured in the most beautiful paintings by Flemish masters. Incredibly romantic, they go particularly well with small white-flowering spring bulbs such as certain botanical narcissus or blue muscari, Siberian squills, and chionodoxa, as well as with ipheions. With their rich colours, sturdy and often fragrant flowers, they can be used in flower beds, rockeries, or to enhance your bouquets. The reputation of early double tulips is already well-established.

Unmatched for bringing early season whimsy to pots or sunny gardens, don't forget to consider the height and flowering period of your tulips when designing your flower beds, as these parameters can vary significantly from one cultivar to another. It is wise to plant a few more bulbs for cutting, as they make beautiful cut flowers that last a long time in a vase.

Note: each batch is unique and the proportion of colours may vary significantly from one batch to another.

Planting and care

Place the early double tulips in a sunny or partially shaded location, sheltered from strong winds, from October to December for spring flowering. Plant the bulbs 15 cm (6in) deep, in a light and well-drained soil that has been deeply loosened. Space the bulbs 10 cm (4in) apart without touching each other for a mass effect; cut the flower stems after flowering. Allow the leaves to dry completely before cutting them. Tulips do not like stagnant moisture, especially when they are in their summer resting period.
