Description
The Aglaonema ‘Beauty’ is a houseplant originating from the tropical forests of Southeast Asia. This variety has been selected for its particularly decorative foliage, blending shades of green, cream, and pink, which brightens up rooms that are a bit dark and humid. It creates a colourful, plant-filled atmosphere in a living room, office, or bedroom.
This plant forms a dense clump of broad, thick, and glossy leaves, with an elliptical to lanceolate lamina that tapers to a distinct point. The margins are entire, without teeth, and each leaf is held on a well-defined petiole, giving the plant a dense, bushy appearance. It is the variegation of this 'Beauty' cultivar that truly characterises it. Depending on the leaf (and often the light intensity), you can see a background of pink to salmon pink, sometimes leaning towards red, more or less covering the leaf blade, speckled with small, irregular dark green spots. The margins remain medium to dark green, and here and there, lighter cream/silver patches may appear. The central vein is visible as an indentation or slight relief and guides the colour distribution without a symmetrical pattern: two neighbouring leaves almost never display the same variegation.
Although it can produce typical Araceae spadix inflorescences, these are discreet and rarely seen indoors. Under favourable conditions, Aglaonema 'Beauty' can reach 60 to 90 cm in height and 45-60 cm in spread.
All parts of the plant are toxic if ingested; it is therefore recommended to keep it out of reach of pets and young children.
Like all aglaonemas, this variety tolerates indirect to medium light and should not be exposed to direct sunlight, which can damage the foliage. It thrives in a warm (18-24 °C) and somewhat humid environment. Its cultivation is accessible to careful amateurs, as it is adaptable and requires little maintenance.
The Aglaonema ‘Beauty’ finds its place on shelves, coffee tables, or desks. Its variegated foliage contrasts with natural textures like light wood or matte ceramic. You can place it next to a Spathiphyllum 'Tanni', a Sansevieria or a Dracaena 'Malaika' to vary heights and textures. In a denser display, add a Calathea insignis with decorative leaves or a Philodendron 'Florida Ghost'.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
