Thanks to the individuals (order preparation & shipping service), the rose bush received is healthy. Planted near the 'Petit Bonheur' variety, I am looking forward to seeing its progress...Note: Received with a variety label (essential for identifying the rose bush in all seasons).

The Standard Rose, Rosa Botticelli Meisylpho, showcases a well-bred variety, an exceptional rose bush with grace, generosity, and robustness. Its beautiful delicately scented porcelain pink flowers bloom for over six months on very healthy foliage, which always remains. With the appearance of a small tree covered in roses, it deserves a prime location, either as a specimen plant, at the centre of a flowerbed or even in a large pot on the patio.
Standard roses are obtained by grafting a variety (here the Botticelli groundcover rose) onto a single and upright stem belonging to a different rose (Rosa canina, R. laxa or R. multiflora). In very cold regions, it may be useful to protect the rootstock in winter.
Rose Botticelli Meisylph has compact, vigorous, well-branched and regular growth. Grafted on a stem, it has a characteristic habit and reaches a height of about 1.50 m (5ft) with a width of 70 cm at maturity. Its thorny stems have beautiful tough and glossy foliage, which is dark green slightly tinged with bronze on the young shoots that form a beautiful setting for the flowering. This repeat flowering is both early and abundant from May-June until the first frost. Grouped in clusters of 2 to 7 units, the broad 8-9 cm (3-4in) roses are composed of 50 to 55 petals. They have a classic shape. Their colour is a light pink that takes on salmon to ochre hues. Each rose blooms in a different way, giving it a more or less crumpled and undulated appearance, like old-fashioned roses. The resistance to rose diseases is excellent. It has received numerous awards in international competitions, for all these qualities, including the Gold Medal in The Hague and Bagatelle, and the Golden Rose in Geneva.

The Botticelli Standard Rose is a magnificent plant, deserving a place of honour in the garden or on the patio. It creates sumptuous displays throughout the summer period, requiring little maintenance except for regular watering in summer in case of high heat and prolonged drought. To accompany it, choose, for example, white groundcover roses, perennial geraniums, delphiniums, foxgloves, catmints, and tall baby's breath. Place a groundcover such as sweet alyssum or the common lady's mantle at its base. Create luxurious bouquets for the house by combining its roses with white or orange lilies....Its roses, which hold up well in a vase, are absolutely charming in bouquets or to decorate a centrepiece.

Botanical data
Roses prefer a sunny location (at least 4 to 5 hours of sun per day), but sheltered from the burning rays of midday and strong winds. Roses appreciate loose, permeable, and humus-rich soil. They prefer slightly acidic soil, but will adapt to any garden as long as the soil is well-worked and sufficiently rich. To plant your rose in a pot, work the soil to a depth of 40 cm, crumbling the soil well and and place a base amendment such as bonemeal at the bottom of the planting hole. Position your plant, free from its pot, covering the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1in) of soil, fill in the hole, and water generously to remove any air pockets. In dry weather, regular watering for a few weeks is necessary to facilitate root growth. Also, remember to provide your rose with special rose fertiliser to stimulate flowering of the plants.
In regions with very cold winters, it is advisable to protect the graft of standard roses by surrounding it with a thick winter mulch.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
