Rosa x floribunda Decorosier Celina Noason - Shrub Rose

The Decorosier Standard Rose Celina is a variety of rose with excellent clustered flowers with many qualities: its flowering, made up of small semi-double flowers in a soft yellow, is slightly fragrant and blooms repeatedly, it offers exceptional disease resistance which earned it the German ADR label and requires little maintenance. Give it a prominent place in the garden or even in a large pot on the patio, it will alone create an exceptional decoration for many years.

Standard roses are obtained by grafting a variety (here the Decorosier Celina rose) onto a single and upright stem belonging to a different rose (Rosa canina, R. laxa or R. multiflora), the graft being made at the top. In very cold regions, it can be useful to protect the rootstock in winter.

The Decorosier Celina Standard Rose belongs to the family of floribunda and polyantha roses, which produce flowers in clusters. Grafted on a stem, it shows a characteristic habit, with a slim and vertical 'trunk' carrying a large rounded crown. Its thorny stems bear foliage, divided into small tough and toothed leaflets of medium green colour. Its flowering is abundant and regular from June to October-November if regularly pruned and well-watered. The semi-double flowers are gathered in clusters of about ten, they are 5 cm (2in) wide. The tightly closed buds open into open cups, revealing a small yellow stamen heart. The scent of this rose is light, very pleasant. The plant will keep its leaves more or less in winter if not too harsh.

DECOROSIERS are bushy roses with spreading habits. They can be used in various ways: lawn borders, flower beds, slopes or containers. They can be planted in any type of soil, in sunny or semi-shaded areas. They offer long and exceptional flowering periods on healthy, shiny, semi-evergreen foliage. Naturally resistant to diseases, they do not require treatment.

ADR is the label of the German Federation of Rose Breeders. The ADR designation is only given to varieties that pass the strictest tests in the world. The plants are tested simultaneously at 10 different locations, in various soil and climatic conditions for several years. The tests focus on hardiness, perennial nature and flowering without any pesticides.

This Celina Standard Rose is a delightful plant, to be placed in the centre of a light perennial bed, along a pathway, near the patio, in isolation in a well-kept small garden or in a large pot on the balcony. Its pale yellow colour pairs particularly well with blue or white flowers. For example, you can plant it in the centre of a bed of white (Opalia) or orange (Calizia) groundcover roses, alongside catmints, perennial salvias, foxgloves, cornflowers or forget-me-nots. A groundcover composed of lungworts, silver baskets or blue aubrietas will perfectly enhance it.
