Our range of Mediterranean Cypress (Cupressus sempervirens) offers trees with an upright habit and characteristic silhouette that bring a Mediterranean atmosphere to the garden. The Mediterranean Cypress is a sought-after conifer for structuring space, forming dense hedges, or as an isolated specimen, where it impresses with its majestic appearance.
The most well-known cultivar, Cupressus sempervirens 'Stricta', is distinguished by its very narrow and compact columnar habit, ideal for small spaces or creating strict alignments. As for Cupressus sempervirens 'Totem', it exhibits a faster growth rate while maintaining a very narrow shape, making it a perfect choice for impatient gardeners. The cultivar 'Pyramidalis' offers a slightly more spreading habit but remains equally elegant, with notable resistance to strong winds, making it particularly suitable for windy regions.
Cupressus sempervirens is an evergreen conifer from the Cupressaceae family. It has dense foliage and scale-like, dark green leaves. This conifer, native to the Mediterranean basin, can reach heights of 20 to 30 metres at maturity, with an upright trunk and tightly spaced vertical branches. Its oval, brown-grey cones, are also characteristic.
The Mediterranean Cypress thrives in full sun and requires very well-drained soil, even poor and calcareous. Once established, it withstands drought well.
