Our shrubby Salvias with orange, salmon, and orange-pink flowers. These shrubby perennials, derived from microphylla, grahamii, and jamensis Salvias, bloom almost continuously from spring to autumn, with a break during the peak of summer. The colour orange is quite rare in flowers in general, as well as in Salvias. In the latter, it takes on soft shades, like the colours of dawn and dusk, irresistible. Salvia 'El Duranzo' displays an orange-pink to bright red colour, the flowers of 'California Sunset' sage offer a mix of soft orange and pink, warmed by a little yellow glow. 'Papajan' is a delightful salmon pink. In the garden or in pots, the orange colour blends perfectly with white, yellow, and red. The orange of shrubby Salvias is a marvel next to blues and even purples. Don't hesitate to mix the varieties together to create multicoloured borders and pots.
Shrubby Salvias are require minimal water, undemanding in terms of soil, and require little maintenance except for a light pruning in spring. More or less hardy depending on the varieties, these small bushes are easily grown in pots, to be stored away from severe frost in winter.
