Beautiful plug plants, strong and vigorous. Order was very well packaged. As soon as it arrived, I planted them in the planter. Now, all that's left to do is wait!

Description

Pelargonium Rocky has a slightly trailing, compact, and well-branched habit. From spring to the first frosts, its shiny foliage is covered with large heads of intensely fuchsia-pink semi-double flowers. Its early flowering, resistance to bad weather, and ease of maintenance make it the perfect choice for pots and hanging baskets. You can mix different colours together to create sumptuous displays

Ivy geraniums are derived, among others, from Pelargonium peltatum, a plant from the geranium family that is native to the coast of the Cape Province in South Africa. This species forms trailing or spreading stems, with foliage resembling that of ivy. The hybrids that we know as ivy geraniums show the same trailing habit and increased floribundity. This variety is part of a line developed for its compact habit, vigorous and branched growth, and weather resistance. It forms a round and trailing clump, 30cm (12in) tall and 40cm (16in) wide, composed of numerous stems adorned with bright green and deep foliage, with five pointed lobes. The slightly fleshy and shiny leaves are peltate and circular. The remarkably long and abundant flowering covers the foliage from May to the first frosts. The semi-double flowers are of an intense fuchsia-pink colour, and are grouped in large heads.

Ivy geraniums are sturdy plants, ideal for decorating pots for most of the year. Their countless flowers create round and colourful masses that mix with each other or enhance other plants, whether trailing like purple or chocolate-foliage ipomoeas (Ipomoea Illusion Midnight Lace, Ipomoea Sweet Heart 'Purple') or upright like zonal geraniums, petunias, gauras, or fuchsias.

Please be aware that our young plug plants are professional products intended for experienced gardeners. Upon receipt, repot and store them under cover (veranda, greenhouse, cold frame) at a temperature above 14°C (57.2°F) for a few weeks before planting them outdoors, once the risk of frost has definitely passed.

Planting and care

You can plant your geraniums in the ground or in a pot. If you want to plant them in the ground, wait until the last heavy frosts have passed. In the meantime, you can pre-cultivate them in a pot in a warm and bright place to accelerate their growth.

Geraniums will flower from June to October. They need light, humus-rich, well-drained soil. They do not like stagnant humidity. Do not water them too much at the beginning of the growing season as they are sensitive to excess moisture. They tolerate drought well, but will need regular watering during hot summer temperatures, especially when grown in pots. Geraniums are susceptible to frost (minimum -2°C (28.4°F)).

These floriferous and fast-growing plants are hungry. We recommend feeding them with a liquid geranium fertiliser once or twice a week during the growing season.

Remove faded flowers and dry leaves as they appear to keep the plants looking beautiful and extend the flowering period.
