A selection of pink Indian Lilac bushes that offer a charming flowering in summer in different shades of pink ranging from the brightest pink to a seashell pink close to white. The entire range of pinks is expressed in the Lagerstroemia : the intense pink known as Indian pink like in the 'Indian Summer' Lilac, the pastel pink ('Summer Evening'), fuchsia pink, tea rose, coral pink, magenta pink, pearly pink... With 'Summer Medley', the frothy flower clusters display a delightful medley ranging from mauve to white through pink. Depending on the variety, the Indian Summer Lilac can grow into a small tree reaching a height of 5m (16ft) with a spread of 3.5m (11ft), for example in the Périgord creations such as 'Monbazillac'. For small gardens and container gardening, the choice is now wide, as exemplified by 'Terrace Rose' or 'Summer Beauty Hope' with their pastel pink flowers. 'Mimi fuchsia', with its audacious pink, will form an astonishing ground cover for the garden. Some pink varieties also have young foliage in shades of bronze or purple, like 'Rhapsody in Pink', which beautifully enhances the flowers. Young lagerstroemias must be protected from the cold. These bushes generally have a bushy habit, growing in clumps, but they can easily be shaped by pruning to form a small tree or a single-trunked specimen. In addition to its sumptuous summer flowering, the Indian Lilac offers beautiful autumn foliage and decorative bark.
