Description
The Weed Mixture is a selection of 4 hardy plant species that limit the proliferation of "weeds", repel pests, and enrich all types of soils, even the poorest ones. Fast-growing, this green manure is ideal between two crops. It is sown in a free plot of the vegetable garden or in a vegetable bed, broadcasted, from March to September, for mowing from April to November. Once buried, the decomposed residues will enrich your soil with nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus.
This mixture is composed of seeds of: mustard, buckwheat, alexandrine clover, and phacelia
- Mustard and buckwheat prevent the growth of unwanted herbs and limit weeding
- An excellent ground cover, alexandrine clover fixes nitrogen and retains nutrients in my soil
- Phacelia attracts pollinators and beneficial insects to protect my vegetable garden from pests
1-Sowing: from March to June or from July to September.
2-Mowing: from April to July or from August to November
3-Burying: from May to August or from October to February
Highly used in permaculture, green manures have many benefits: they enrich and loosen the soil while preventing the establishment of adventives. They also have the advantage of forming a vegetative cover that protects clay soils from rain compaction and sandy soils from leaching. They can be sown throughout the year, and can be mowed before seed formation to incorporate them through shallow digging or left in place as mulch.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
