The Hemerocallis 'Everydaylily Cerise' is part of a series of recently selected daylilies in the United States for their exceptional floribundity combined with a compact habit. They bloom continuously from late spring until the first frost, producing up to 400 flowers in a mature season. In this lovely variety 'Cerise', the flowers are delicious, fleshy, and beautifully rounded, with a pink corolla shaded with a deeper lavender pink halo around a green and yellow throat. This easy-to-grow perennial is magnificent in borders, delightful in pots, and perfect in a romantic or natural setting. Â
Â
According to different classifications, the genus Hemerocallis belongs to the family Liliaceae or Hemerocallidaceae. They are hardy perennial plants with deciduous foliage in winter or sometimes semi-evergreen. The 'Cerise variety, like all its 'Everydaylily' series siblings, is derived from the excellent border daylily 'Stella de Oro'. It grows quickly in a fairly dense clump that will not exceed 35-40cm (14-16in) in height, with a relative spread of 50 cm: daylilies tend to spread a little when they like the soil. The flowers measure 7-8 cm (3in) in diameter. The petals are wide, thick, slightly wavy, and slightly undulated at the edges. Each flower lasts only a day, but the flowering renews continuously over a long period between June and October. The iridescent texture of the petals enhances the flower colour. The foliage is linear and deciduous, disappearing in winter. Daylilies are plants with short rhizomes and fleshy roots that tolerate dry soils but are lush and much more floriferous in cool, fertile soil.Â
Â
With very easy cultivation, daylilies thrive in partial shade and full sun. Some can be invasive, so don't hesitate to divide the clumps every four or five years, preferably in autumn after flowering. Daylilies are often called "the perfect perennial plant" because of their vibrant colours, ability to tolerate any type of environment, and compatibility with other perennials. Plant them in generous clumps in your flowerbeds and borders. All summer bulb flowers can be planted alongside daylilies. 'Everydaylily Cerise' pairs well with campanulas, catmints, penstemons, asters, chamomiles, or paniculate phlox. On a balcony or patio, it will be stunning for months. The flowers are edible: they brighten up salads and decorate desserts.Â

Botanical data
Plant your 'Everydaylily' Hemerocallis in good, not too clayey garden soil enriched with humus and potting soil. Under these conditions, your perennial will tolerate summer droughts and not suffer from winter frosts. However, its long summer flowering requires the soil to remain slightly moist, even in the height of summer. Very easy to grow, this variety is not susceptible to parasites or diseases, there is no need to treat it, and rodents are not interested in it. Daylilies thrive both in semi-shades and full sun; 4 to 5 hours of daily sunlight is enough for them—plant by burying the base 3 to 4 cm (1 to 2in) below the surface. Do not plant them too close together. If you grow several, the spaces will quickly be filled. Keeping the soil reasonably moist for a few weeks after planting is good. It is best to divide the plant in autumn after flowering.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
