Collection of 5 pansies in citrus colours. Discover our selection of three varieties of highly floriferous horned violets, with pure colours, which sparkle in white, yellow, and orange, like a flowering and fruiting citrus orchard. With their long acidulous flowering, they joyfully flood borders, flower boxes, and hanging baskets for a good part of the year. These biennials produce compact, bushy plants that remain compact throughout the seasons and are also attractive with their dark green, evergreen foliage. They are cultivated in humus-bearing soil, in partial shade. A mix of vibrant colours for spring pots. The collection consists of:

Belonging to the violet family, the horned violet, which grows wild in the Pyrenees, is a low perennial plant that has given rise to many hybrids. Often crossed with Viola tricolor (wild pansy), their most famous descendants are horticultural pansies. The 'Sorbet Xp F1 Citrus mix' mix produces spreading herbaceous plants 10 to 15cm (4 to 6in) tall in flower, with dark green, ovate, crenate, evergreen leaves forming a spreading tuft. They are covered in flowers from spring to autumn. Their flowers form a beautiful ensemble of vibrant, pure colours, white, yellow, or orange, depending on the plants. The throat of each flower is discreetly marked with fine black stripes radiating from a small bright yellow heart. The flowers resemble those of small pansies, but their petals are arranged differently. The two upper ones are upright, while the other three are inclined downwards. The plants spread quite rapidly thanks to their rhizomes and also self-seed easily in the garden, not always faithfully.

Horned violets are intended for low flower beds, borders, but also pots and hanging baskets, where they will be associated with other plants that flower in spring and summer (Forget-me-nots, Dwarf Narcissus, Daisies, Primroses, Botanical Tulips, summer and autumn asters...). The flowers of horned violets are edible, so feel free to decorate your plates with one or two flowers, or even to add a few to your salads to give them a touch of colour.
