Rampastop Protecta Tree Grease Gel with Applicator Bottle 200 ml

The Protecta (Rampastop®) tree glue in gel form with applicator bottle, with its gelatinous consistency, is an easy-to-use product and particularly suited to heavily fissured bark, which offers little purchase for traditional formulas. It is applied around the trunk of trees, or at the base of main branches, to create a physical barrier that traps or prevents the ascent of creeping insects such as earwigs, caterpillars and ants into the aerial parts of fruit trees. 200 ml of product will protect 2 or 3 trees with a trunk approximately 15cm in diameter, for 4 to 6 weeks.

To protect fruit trees from damage caused by the appetite of certain creeping pests, applying tree glue is a proven, effective and simple preventive solution. It is an ecological control product, offering an alternative to insecticidal treatment methods: by sticking to the glue as they pass, insects simply cannot access the fruit.

This tree glue is composed of polybutene and polyisobutenes, materials obtained from the petrochemical industry which give it remarkable plasticity and long-lasting hold. It comes in the form of a green-coloured gel. It is applied easily using the applicator bottle to form a ring approximately 10 cm wide on the trunk or on the base of the main (structural) branches if these start too close to the soil. Do not work the soil during the application period, to avoid the glue becoming saturated with dust. Ensure there are no tall herbs at the foot of the trunks, which create passageways (or 'bridges') allowing creeping insects to access the aerial parts.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
On certain sensitive trees (Citrus trees, Fig trees, etc.) and on young trees (<2 years), direct application to the trunk may present a risk of bark necrosis. To avoid this, cover the desired application area with cling film before applying the glue. Do not reapply the following year on the same area of the trunk. Once the glue is applied, do not carry out summer pruning on the tree.

Bird protection: avoid applying the glue to horizontal branches to avoid trapping insectivorous birds.
