Plant purchased and installed in late 2019 (at the same time as the Caprilia Imperial cov variety)... It's now spring 2022, and it's really starting to thrive... Very pleasant fragrance. Planted in partial shade along a fence in a somewhat empty spot... It took some time, but it's finally starting to settle in nicely. So, patience is required.

Description

The Lonicera periclymenum Fragrant Cloud® is a new hybrid variety of climbing Honeysuckle, very hardy, easy to grow, with a beautiful delicately scented raspberry-coloured flowering.

The Lonicera Fragrant Cloud has long deciduous leaves, 4 to 8cm (2 to 3in) long, opposite, ovate, lanceolate, purple then dark green at maturity. From July to September, numerous tubular flowers, 3cm (1in) long, raspberry pink and white, diffuse a powerful and pleasant fragrance. They have two large colored lips and leave the stamens exposed. In autumn, berries follow.

This honeysuckle tolerates any rich, moist, well-drained soil in sunny or semi-shaded positions. Although not necessary, a light pruning at the end of winter is possible to rebalance the habit.

With its height of 4m (13ft), the Lonicera Fragrant Cloud is ideal as a wall cover to dress up fences, trellises, pylons, pergolas, or trees. In a container on a terrace, you will enjoy its fragrance even more!
