Description

Dryopteris filix-mas 'Linearis Polydactyla', is a variety of the very common male fern that can be found in almost all undergrowth in Europe.

This very original variety has the characteristic of producing narrow fronds with narrowed pinnules. They are terminated at their ends by a tuft of elongated pinnules, resembling fingers. The fronds are semi-evergreen and regenerate in the spring.

Light and delicate, this fern reaches a height of 70cm (28in), it likes partial shade, soils rich in humus and moist.

Use the transparency of its foliage to associate it with hostas and Heucheras, add a touch of floriferous plants: columbines, primroses, Astrantias, anemones and you will get a shade bed, structured and decorative for long months.
