Description

Panicum virgatum 'Prairie Sky', or upright panic grass, is an ornamental grass with glaucous foliage that quickly turns purple in autumn. Taller than other varieties, it also has a more upright habit.

Originally from the United States, Panicum virgatum is a grass that is well adapted to extreme conditions, tolerating both drought and cold. It is versatile and adapts well to many situations in the garden. Non-suckering, this grass with its upright habit is highly appreciated in small gardens.

This grass thrives in any well-drained soil and is particularly well suited to coastal areas as it tolerates sea spray.
