Description

Kitaibelia vitifolia forms a thick, woody stump giving rise to an imposing clump of upright stems bearing large dark green vine leaves. Pure white flowers, similar to those of the mallow, bloom in the axil of the leaves located in the upper part of the stems. The stems produce just a few flowers, but they nevertheless succeed each other over a long period. Suitable for any deep soil.

Planting and care

Like kalimeris, it is perfectly robust and endowed with great adaptability to various soils, climates, and exposures. It will work wonders in very moist soil, alongside willowherbs or ligularia, as well as in soil made very dry by the roots of trees or bushes that it will enhance in the foreground. It will self-seed here and there in the garden.
