Description

The Achillea filipendulina 'Cloth of Gold' or Yellow Yarrow, is a creeping perennial with evergreen leaves as finely cut as lace. It has a golden yellow flowering during the summer and structures sunny flowerbeds with its large flat flower heads.

The Achillea filipendulina 'Cloth of Gold' is a creeping shrub , it is remarkable for its grey-green foliage, composed of finely cut, lanceolate leaves covered with white hairs giving them a greyish appearance. During the months of July to September, it flowers corymbs consisting of a plateau of yellow flowers at the end of tall stems over one metre high.

With rapid growth, it has good hardiness (-15°C (5°F)). It is often attacked by aphids to such an extent that it is known in organic gardening to prevent or prevent other plants from being invaded by insects. With very important adaptability, it likes soils with limestone that is well-draining.

It likes sunny or semi-shaded exposure and is ideal in simple gardens (or monk gardens), flowerbeds, meadows or as cut flowers. It will blend in with scabious, irises or phlox.
