Description
The Epimedium ground cover for shade with small lilac flowers reminiscent of orchids. In April/May, each floriferous stem produces up to sixteen flowers.
The Epimedium also has the secondary advantage of remaining decorative for several seasons. After flowering, a second, larger leaf growth develops. The leaves often have beautiful coppery speckles, especially visible in spring.
Floriferous and rapidly spreading, it forms a dense enough habit to make a superb and effective ground cover.

Plant the Epimedium in shade or partial shade in moist soil that remains rather damp. These plants are very easy and do not have any specific requirements. Just water them regularly for the first six weeks to promote establishment.
