Very ugly young plant whose flowering is not pink but dirty white, it looks more like a weed, I have removed it.

Description

The Filipendula palmata Nana, or Palmate Filipendula, is a small hardy perennial with large palmate leaves of a beautiful shiny green. It bears dark pink feathery flowers. Ideal when space is limited in the garden.

Belonging to the extensive Rosaceae family, the Filipendula palmata 'Nana' is the dwarf form of the Palmate Filipendula. From June to August, it offers a delicate flowering in feathery corymbs with a slightly pendant habit. Its deciduous foliage is dark green and glossy, consisting of large palmate leaves that are deeply cut. The overall habit forms a dense clump about 40 cm (16in) tall and 40 cm (16in) wide.

Native to Asia, the Filipendula palmata, sometimes called Spirea palmata, is quite similar to the Queen of the Prairie. It is a low-maintenance plant, hardy up to -15°C (5°F), that will tolerate average, even heavy soil as long as it remains moist. However, it will thrive best in rich and humus-rich soil, in full sun or partial shade. During particularly dry summers, we recommend closely monitoring watering to prevent weakening and susceptibility to mildew.

In the garden, it will make a statement when planted en masse in a damp woodland or near a pond or marsh. It can easily be paired with many other perennials such as Persicaria Pink Elephant, Purple Eupatorium, or Heucheras.

Planting and care

This is a low-maintenance plant, hardy up to -15 °C (5°F), that will thrive in a medium soil, even heavy, as long as it stays moist. But it is in a rich and humus-bearing soil, in full sun or partial shade, that it will truly shine. During particularly dry summers, we advise you to closely monitor the watering to avoid weakening it, as it would make it susceptible to mildew.
