The geranium arrived in good condition. It has grown well but hasn't flowered much. Too much shade, I think. I will find a better spot for it.

Description

The perennial Geranium Dragon Heart surprises both with its unusually sized flowers and its long-lasting flowering.

This novelty, destined for a bright future, possesses the same qualities as the famous Geranium 'Patricia', namely a long and abundant flowering period and a great adaptability to all types of soil.

In every respect similar to G. 'Patricia', this new perennial geranium stands out for its flowers. Twice as big, they measure 6 cm (2 in) in diameter, and are made up of 5 large magenta-pink petals with an oversized, veined black heart.

In bloom from May, it flowers continuously until autumn. A spreading ground cover, it forms mats 60 cm (24 in) high and 50 cm (20 in) wide.

Highly hardy, this new perennial geranium can be planted in beds or along borders, and also thrives perfectly in pots in sunny or semi-shaded positions.

Planting and care

Place the perennial Geranium Dragon Heart in full sun or partial shade in a preferably moist but well-draining soil. To install your bucket, work the soil in a 20 cm (8 in) cube, crumble the soil well and place a bottom amendment such as dried blood or dehydrated horn in the planting hole. Position your plant, removed from its pot, by covering the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1 in) of soil, fill in and water generously to eliminate air pockets. During dry weather, it is necessary to water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate root establishment.
