Description
The Geranium Terre Franche is a perennial ground cover, remarkable for its drought resistance, with blue mauve flowers striped with purple that bloom throughout the summer.
This perennial geranium forms a spreading clump that reaches a height of 45cm (18in), with semi-evergreen foliage that is medium green and covered with a fine grey down. Like all perennial geraniums, it is tolerant and accepts both sunny and semi-shaded conditions. It thrives in poor and dry soils that accentuate the silvery character of its foliage.
You should plant it in a poor and well-drained soil, preferably in a prominent position at the edge of a border to enjoy its decorative foliage. It pairs well with sages, yarrows, shrub roses, and small grasses.
A variety very similar to 'Philippe Vapelle', from which it mainly differs in its larger stature, its foliage that holds up well in late season, and its flowers that are a slightly lighter blue.Geranium Terre Franche in pictures
