Arrived in a sorry state. On this composition of 4 young plants, I only have 3, even though I paid for 4. I hope the other 3 will thrive considering their condition. I am very disappointed. In this field of plants, I don't have the creeping bugle. I do not recommend this purchase.

More information

Four perennial plants with varied leaf colour and texture to easily create a colourful autumn scene. This composition combines a variegated white and pink bugle (Ajuga), a golden and caramel-coloured heuchera, a Carex with fine green leaves, and a Muehlenbeckia. Grown in the same pot, they should be repotted in a larger, wider container to adorn the balcony or terrace throughout the year. They can also be planted in the ground, in full sun or partial shade, in soil that is not too dry.

Description

The Sunkissed Blend from the Autumn Fairy collection brings together four carefully chosen perennial plants in a single container, selected for their varied leaf textures and colours. They harmonize beautifully and remain decorative for a long time, especially in summer and autumn. They are all easy to grow in pots or in the ground. Already composed and ready to plant, this lovely mix allows you to tastefully dress up your terrace or garden for an immediate and lasting effect.

The Sunkissed Blend includes:

- 1 x Ajuga: a perennial plant for partial shade, with wavy foliage and young leaves tinged with pink that turn variegated green and white-cream. Its delicate scented, bright lavender-blue flower spikes are very decorative and start in June, lasting for over a month. The above-ground vegetation persists in winter.

- 1 x Heuchera: a heuchera with caramel-gold foliage with bronze highlights. This perennial plant has extremely light floral spikes adorned with tiny white-pink bells in summer. The foliage more or less persists in winter.

- 1 x Carex, a small non-invasive perennial grass with long, slender blue-green leaves. Its graceful tufted growth persists in winter.

- 1 x Muehlenbeckia complexa: a climbing or trailing perennial with slender brown stems bearing tiny round green leaves no larger than confetti. It has a very delicate appearance and is a low-maintenance, highly tolerant plant with average hardiness (-10 to -12°C (14 to 10.4°F)). The foliage persists in mild winters. In the ground, it can grow quite large (up to 4m (13ft)).

Grown in the same pot, these perennial plants are a perfect match. They should be repotted in a larger container to showcase them on the balcony or terrace. This composition can also be planted in the ground, in full sun or partial shade, in well-drained, rich, and relatively moist soil.

Planting and care

Plant your Sunkissed Blend in spring or early autumn, in a large container to allow the plants to fully reach their potential. Use rich and light potting soil and water regularly. Apply universal fertilizer in spring. Choose a semi-shaded exposure, avoiding scorching sun. The created pot can withstand winter outside as all the plants are hardy, but Muehlenbeckia can perish in severe frost (-10 to -12°C (14 to 10.4°F)).

In the ground: if your soil is heavy, mix in some potting soil and sand and place your composition so the top of the root ball is covered with 2-3 cm (1in) of soil. The addition of a base fertilizer will nourish your plants during the rooting period without the risk of burning. Firm the soil and water generously to eliminate air pockets. If the weather is dry, you will need to water regularly for a few weeks to aid establishment, then water your plants if it is very dry. We recommend pruning the leaves and dry stems in February-March.
